Adelaide - Day 11

It was another wine-filled affair as we kick-started the day with a visit to McLaren Vale, another wine region approximately 35 km south of Adelaide in South Australia and renowned for the wines it produces. Once again i drove and this time Mabeline and Denise, 2 girls from NTU having their exchange at Flinders, joined us. We visited a few cellars such as Pertaringa and tried some of wines there. I was very lucky to try an open-bottled premium shiraz (Over the Top Shiraz 2005) at Pertaringa, which was the last cellar out of 3 that we visited, and the other girls only tried the moscato. We walked out of the cellar with a bottle of moscato each. It's such a ladies' wine!

Next, we went to Victor Harbor. We drove up to the Bluff, which is the highest point of the harbor and took pictures of, in my opinion, the most beautiful scenery in South Australia. We ended a day with a shopping trip to Colonnades, a huge mall 15min drive away from Flinders.

This is one of my favs of Rach's many culinary successes - Nikujaga! but she makes it using minced pork instead of minced beef. Very sweet and crazily addictive! I love the kuniyaku noodles especially, adds a lot of texture to the dish. Best eaten cold! Weird..but that's the best way to go ;)
