Adelaide - Day 10

This is the beat-up old Mitsubishi that faithfully took us to Barossa Valley and back. The Barossa Valley is a major wine-producing region and tourist destination of South Australia, located 60 km northeast of Adelaide. It produces some of the best wines in the world, some of which are not commercialised and you can only try or buy them at the cellars. So its definitely a place that wine lovers must visit. Rach and I visited Barossa Valley Estate and Two Hands, and quite a few others. Absolutely gorgeous the wines at Two Hands. We were sooo reluctant to part with the sermillion and moscato. The sermillon was quite highly priced - it cost around AUD50, as compared to other wines that you purchase from cellars, it's definitely steeper. We bought a bottle of moscato (AUD18) for weiqin. Thank goodness, or else we'd have to pay a AUD5 tasting fee per pax to try the wines. Barossa Valley Estate was not as good, but it wasnt too bad either. Rach bought a bottle of Rosè there, which I believe she enjoyed on her birthday. For lunch we had Tim Tams and microwaved Russian donuts (see pic for beef and mushroom upclose). We also visited Angas Park, where you can find the greatest dried produce, fruits and nuts. It was a really nice drive, and we derived scenic pleasure from the vineyards, cows grazing, sheep mehh-ing and flowers blooming (yes, in winter). It was, however, a little tiring - I had to stop by at macDs and eat a cookie hot fudge sundae to 'gain' energy. It would be better if 2 people take turns to drive, but I LOVE DRIVING. So I had a really good time navigating around aussie roads. OK fine..rach did the navigating. i'm like a map-idiot. But hey! at least I'm a good driver haha ;)
