Melbourne - Day 4

Haha..back for a month already and now i'm starting to blog about day 4 in melb.. procrastination hits even when its nothing to do with work. che novità!
So the day started lazily.. woke up at 11am.. everyone thinks i'm mad cuz we should be spending more time out since its the touristy thing to do.. haha..but when i woke up i found rach doing her assignment at the dining table, and the lotus root soup that she cooked was already boiling on the stove. talk about efficiency! We went to Springvale (vietnamese suburb) for lunch and had vietnamese food (what else)!
rach and i had pho, which is vietnamese beef noodles where rice noodles are cooked in a tasty broth and raw beef is soaked in the boiling soup. it was pretty good, although i felt that it could be tastier. nothing special though as pho can be found anywhere in the world nowadays. yuting had fried noodles with beef and chinese broccoli (apparently its kai lan..i never knew). i had a bit of the noodles --> it was great. love the thick gravy and the oily noodles..perfect to get those calories counting. we went to do abit of grocery shopping at the vietnamese supermarket after lunch. then it was lazy shopping for me n rach at the Glen (glen waverly). the stores at all the shopping centres in OZ basically have the same shops. so its mainly just walking around cuz there's nothing much to buy. most of my shopping was done in the supermarkets ;) food glorious food.
we wanted to go to Chadstone but we kept missing the buses and it started raining. so the day ended for us at Dan Murphey's, a huge place that sells so many types of wine. u cant even start to imagine the size of it. It was wine galore for me. CHEAP. but i couldnt buy much! this is when you wish you lived overseas. when you go wine tasting and places like these. anw i bought a bottle of Jacob's Creek 2005 shiraz at AUD 7.99. its not an expensive wine in sg. but still 7.99 is a bargain. Went back to yuting's for dinner which consisted of leftover risotto and rach's lotus root soup ;) taste of home in kangarooland...
