Sizzling chicken with mushroom sauce
If you are a korean bbq or hotplate kinda person, the selection of sizzlers at Tiong Bahru Plaza Food Court are worth trying out. And it's not just cuz of the price. Costing an average of $3.50 per set, it's probably the cheapest of its kind in Singapore. Doesnt taste too bad either, maybe just a tad salty. Accompanied with rice and a bowl of shark's fin-like starchy soup, it makes a rather fulfilling meal. I didn't eat the rice though, so I went to buy a HK style char siew bao from the dim sum stall in the food court.
Side-tracker: it's the usual fluffiness you get from HK char siew baos, but it's so small you can finish it in 2 mouthfuls. and the filling is miserable. oh well.. what to expect from a 60cents bun..taste is alright.
